Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions About Our Destin Fishing Charters

Have questions about Finatical Charters’ nearshore and offshore fishing charters in Destin? Below you’ll find answers to the most frequent questions we’re asked, but if you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, feel free to give us a call! Capt. Blake will be happy to help plan an exciting and memorable offshore fishing experience: (361) 728-7362

What time do we meet?

Pickup times will vary depending on the length of charter and our goals for the day.

Your Captain will speak with you directly the day before your trip to coordinate meeting time, location and what your goals are for your fishing experience.

What happens if we have to cancel?

We understand that things happen!

So, in the event that you need to cancel your fishing charter with us, we only ask that you provide us with 72 hours notice of cancellation and will provide a full refund.

What if it rains or there's bad weather?

We fish rain or shine, however we want everyone to be safe.

In the event that your Captain chooses to call off your fishing charter due to poor weather or other conditions which might make your trip unsafe, we’ll do our best to reschedule your charter.

If for travel or other reasons you are unable to reschedule with us, we’ll provide a 100% refund for any amounts previously paid.

Where do we meet for our charter?

All charters meet directly at the boat at:

Two Georges Marina
(on “C Dock”)

100 Old Ferry Road
Shalimar, FL 32579

What can we expect to catch on our charter?

We target the following species on our fishing charters:

  • Mahi-Mahi
  • Wahoo
  • Snapper
  • Cobia
  • Amberjack
  • And more…
Can we keep the fish we catch?

Absolutely! However, seasonal fishing regulations may dictate which species may be kept as well as size and bag limits – so ask your Captain which fish can be kept at the time of your charter.

Capt. Blake will happily clean and bag your legal catch and even recommend local restaurants that will cook your fish for you!

Is there a toilet aboard the boat?

Yes!

You’ll be happy to know that Capt. Blake’s vessel includes a private toilet for added comfort on your trip.

Are we allowed to tip the Captain?
Absolutely! Your Captain works extremely hard to provide his guests with the best fishing experiences possible.

Customarily, gratuities for a Captain are 20%+ of the cost of your charter.
Do we need fishing licenses?

Nope! We’ve got you covered!

Your paid fishing trip with Finatical Charters includes all of the licenses and permits you’ll need for your fishing adventure!

Can we bring alcohol on a fishing charter?

Yes! And to keep your drinks nice and chilly, we provide an iced cooler onboard the boat!

We only ask that you drink responsibly and leave the glass containers (and bananas!) at home.

What kind of boat will we be going out in?

You’ll be fishing from Capt. Blake’s 33 foot, 341CC Caymas Boats.

The Vessel includes:

  • Livewell for keeping bait alive and fresh
  • Cooler for drinks and snacks
  • Ample space for 6 guests to be comfortable and safe
  • Private toilet
How many people can go on a charter?

Maximum number of guests is 6 (plus your Captain).

What if we would like to go longer?

Absolutely!

If you’re on a charter with us and would like to extend your trip…we’ll happily extend your charter (for an additional fee) as long as our booking calendar allows.

Just ask your Captain!

Reviews from Our Guests

Captain Blake and the Finatical vessel he runs is of the highest quality. Dock to dock, nothing but the highest quality gear and professional “can do” attitude. You can see the discipline from his time in the Army and he treats his customers like family! Highly recommend, and we WILL be fishing with him again.
