Capt. Chip Godwin
Capt. Chip Godwin was born and raised in Destin, Florida, where fishing has been a part of his life from the very beginning. His father, Buddy Godwin, started fishing locally in the 1970s, and Chip was working as a deckhand by the age of 8—learning the trade the old-school way, long before modern electronics.
He spent his early years on the family’s party boat, gaining hands-on experience reading bottom structure, finding fish, and working with anglers of all skill levels. By the 1990s, Chip and his brother had both become captains, and in 1998 he purchased his first charter boats from his father.
With a lifetime spent on the water, including commercial fishing and running vessels internationally, Chip brings a deep well of experience to every trip. He is a USCG 100-ton Master Captain, CPR and First Aid certified, and a U.S. Navy veteran.
