It’s officially spring in Destin, Florida and the bite is on! We kicked off the week with our first king mackerel of the season, along with plenty of Spanish mackerel—a sure sign that warmer water and faster-paced fishing have arrived.
A few days later, we pushed offshore to the FADs and were greeted with solid mahi-mahi action. To top it off, a buddy fishing nearby hooked into a white marlin right next to us—an awesome bonus and a clear sign that trolling season is underway.
We also spent time deep water bottom fishing and were rewarded with a mixed bag of groupers and snappers. No matter where we’ve fished lately, the bite has been hot. Spring fishing is officially on fire here in Destin!
